This is because without consultations, the company will pay a small amount of money for the lands. The price that Origin Energy was paying for the lands in Queenslandwas one of the major reasons that Bender was unwilling to sale his lands to the company. For instance, the government was willing to pay Bender an upfront amount of $3183. Bender considered this amount of money to be too small; hence, he refused to sign the contract, authorizing the sale of his land. However, this policy was economical to the company. Recommendations and Conclusion To carter for the interests of the community, the government and Origin Energy must involve all the stakeholders in the decision making process. In as much as the law grants the government possession of all minerals in the ground, the same law allows people to own land. Therefore, the government must negotiate with these people when it comes to convincing them, to sale their land. Through this method, the company and the government will identify the needs of land owners, and develop a compensation package that carters for their needs. Furthermore, the company and the government will be satisfying the principles of utilitarian theory, which states that the best action is one thatleads to the common good of the stakeholders or people affected by the decision.The decision and policy developed from this approach will ensure that the company and government provide a compensation plan that does not harm its interests, or one that will limit their operations. On the other hand, the compensation plan developed will be sufficient to the land owners. Ted wants to determine what is most accurate way to determine the forecast for 2008. The two models that were provided were thoroughly analyzed to determine which model was the most appropriate to utilize. These models were a regression model with factors, seasons and an additive Holt-Winters model. The forecasts also show that there is a significant change in the sales with the economic hardship and oil prices. It was concluded that the Regression with Econometric Variables would be the best method to use to forecast the sales for 2008, estimating a 255,927,955 for that year. Background With the economy continuously deteriorating everyone seems to be getting hurt financially, even the automotive industry, which has deepening the economic recession. Automotive part suppliers continued to experience heavy debt and overcapacity caused by production cuts by automakers, specifically including the big 3 (Ford Motor Company, General Motors and Chrysler). Ted Ralley is the director of a marketing research for a manufacturer of spare automobiles parts and itÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s working on conducting a forecast for the upcoming year. Ted is aware of the forecasting errors and how costly they can be which is why these numbers must be as accurate as possible. In order to perform this forecast, Ted has collected the data on quarterly sales for the previous four years and ran several forecasts using time series forecasting methods. Ted noticed that economic activity and oil prices have impacted significantly the auto part sales and decided that the forecast will be more accurate using econometric variables. Problem Will the econometric variables be a better predictor of sales for the coming year, given the current economic activity and oil prices? Analysis This analysis consisted of the evaluation of the regression model with factors, seasons and the additive Holt-Winters method to generate an accurate forecast of how econometric variables have affected the Auto Parts industry. The analysis involved calculating the errors metrics for the three models (mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), root mean square error (RMSE), MAPE and TheilsÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ U-statistics (U)) and comparing them against each other. The error metrics were calculated by using the formulas shown below: Table 1.1 Error Metrics Formulas: After studying the data provided it could be determined that there is an upward trend with obvious seasonality. Another factor that played a role in these regressions was the removal of the first two years in order to meet Holt-Winters method guidelines. The first regression was conducted usingÃ‚ Factors was generated by utilizing the data that provided by Ted Ralley from a large manufacturer of spare auto parts for automobiles. The data consisting of the quarterly sales for the previous four years was the dependent variables and independent variables consisted of Time, quarter 2, quarter 3, quarter 4. In this regression quarter 1 was removed in order to avoid over forecasting and binary coding was used to generate dummy factors. After the regression was completed, the independent variables were tested to determine their significance, which was done by performing a regression on the data through Microsoft Excel. Quarter 4 was removed from the model due to the fact that it was statis tically insignificant. This was determined by using backward elimination, which means, a variable that has a P-Value that is greater than .05, is considered insignificant and should be removed from the data and a new regression should be completed. The results from the new regression, shown below, have a P-Value less than .05 being sufficient to reject the null hypothesis (Ha). A very strong positive linear correlation between sales and all the independent variables combined with a 95.47%, leaving an unexplained variance of 4.53 is also demonstrated. According to the textbook Ã¢â‚¬Å"the most common measure of overall fit is the coefficient of determination (R2)Ã¢â‚¬ . Another important measure is the Ã¢â‚¬Å"standard error (Se), which is derived from the sum of squared residuals for n observations and k predictorsÃ¢â‚¬ (Poane, Seward, 2013). A smaller Se Indicates a better fit, in this case the Se will be off by around 3.9 million. The coefficients used to run the forecast for 2008 are the following: intercept coefficient + coefficient time x time 1 plus coefficient q2* code for Q2 dummy variable for q2 + plus coefficient q3. Square error was used to find the magnitude of the error; the absolute value of the error to the sale s was found and then preceded to calculate to numerator. Numerator and denominator will be calculated in other to use ThielsÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ U. A Suburbian Murder

The pearl white pigeon glided into the open window bringing with it the stenches of central London traffic. It cocked its head to one side while perched on the windowsill, as if in limbo. The blonde, wavy haired boy lay, sprawled out on his bed. His eyelids twitched as his dark eyes attempted to adjust to the ferocious rays of sunlight flooding the room. No sooner did he lift his heads. Then the black monster blared excruciatingly from across the room forcing him to summon the will power to trudge along and slap the alarm on the head, silencing it for a further twenty four hours. What day was it? He didn't care. Each day was the same and he couldn't tell the difference. He felt something. He walked outside into the cool breezing, looking upwards towards the day with a large smirk in his face. He was quite young, about in his late twenties, tall and relatively thin. He had a certain style of clothing, wearing a white polo shirt, with jeans of a faded blue colour. He had no facial hair and his hair was flipped upwards, his green sparkling eyes reflected from the stunning sun like a diamond. He started to shiver. He stopped. He stood guard, glancing very sharply at them. Thunder screamed! And the burning intense weather died away. The shell spinning around had ripped his life. He hid panicking, wondering who it was? Why? Will someone help? Did he see me? Am I going to die? Out of the blue, tires screeched and the speeding car drove away into the gloomy night its number plate half out of its position, streaks of mud on the cars bright headlights and fresh mud falling off the bumper. He unleashed his face from the dark and ran fast as possible to shelter. He had just witnessed a hideous murder. The fluorescent moon shone beams of darkness through the condensed window into the minute aura of evil; he could not terminate the appalling judgment of the revolting murder, his head was spinning due to the puzzle thoughts of what he would do subsequently. He couldn't bring the images of the ruthless murder to an end as it repeated in his distressed mind. Having watched his only family murdered, he could not eject the sensation of the evil thought of his brother being murdered! The door rang; it was the policemen, come around asking questions about the death of his late brother. Having asked firm and draining questions they had still no suspects or any set offs with the murder connecting towards the murderer, they had no choice but to close the case. He had heard the news of the harsh murder and had come to give his wishes and support. He felt a bit rickety and had many large breaks in-between sentences as though he was hiding something. My suspicions grew larger and I too started to feel in-secure. It seemed he was in a hurry so I walked him to the door. My heart started to beat faster, my hands flooded as sweat was unleashed from the palms of my hands, I became breathless as my lungs felt compressed. I could not believe that my eyes were telling me the truth. The same old car with the same old broken number plate could it be he murdered my loving brother I was bolt from the blue and I knew what to do for the sake of my beloved brother . Just before the ice blood curdling night I waited. Sitting on an old rusty tree like a dull owl. I got out a blood thirsty razor sharp knife grasping to be used. I glanced at it and saw a sharp reflection of myself. Its face was shivering; it could its tired and strained face bearing the marks of harsh warfare. Then suddenly the chilly air spun around him like a smooth python trying to suffocate it. He sat back in stress. Thunder screamed! And the house awoke sending out a large breeze, he could sense the presence of his foe. The bleak chilly air had died away and then the vigorous rain was unleashed from the jet black sky and he was ready to make his move. The black car drove into the driveway. The number plate half out of its position, streaks of mud on cars head lights, fresh mud falling off the bumper. He walked towards the door wearing a white striped suit. His hair was wet and flat from the rain he had no facial hair but wore glasses. He was very muscular and also had a mole on his right cheek and looked quite similar to his brother. His jingles of keys fell as he ran towards his house for shelter from the rain, he kneeled he paused; Thunder screamed! He pulled it! The shell spinning around had ripped his life. He fell back thinking who it was? Why? Will someone help? Am I going to die? The predator walked up towards its prey as he was raising his hands for help, he unleashed his face from the dark. The atmosphere drew a sigh as the trigger was pulled and a bullet was released again. The cold blooded killer dragged the deceased into the cold shivering pool of chlorine water and left it to drown. He packed his carnage weapon and removed the traces of his presence. The storm cried away leaving a romantic dark pitch sky with bright glowing stars. He walked home having justice for his brother and now his best mate was dead at last!

However, the stockholders are reluctant with this motion, given that there are branches of the big banks of Manila and already two rural banks in the city. For more than 20 years, the Rural Bank of Suares struggled financially because of the governmentÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s lending program. Point-of-View: For this case, the point-of-view of the stockholders will be used Statement of the Problem: Should the stockholders follow Peter Arguelles and expand to the capital city or should they not? Areas of consideration: First, the banking industry in the late 1990s can be categorized by three major trends: Deregulation, Technological innovation, and Globalization. These trends combined to induce a consolidation in the industry that knew no borders. The mantra heard in corporate boardrooms and analyst conference calls was Ã¢â‚¬Å"bigger is better. The rationales for this were largely two-fold. On the operational side, banks believed that only by being larger than the competition could they take full advantage of the economies of scale and economies of scope that the technology revolution was offering. Thus, by getting larger banks could reduce their expense ratios and earn a higher net interest margin. On the marketing side of the business, banks also felt that bigger was better. Deregulatio n in the US and elsewhere had made the buzzwords of relationship banking and cross-selling more than academic musings. To bank executives everywhere, these words represented the keys to winning back some of market share banks had been losing to equity markets and other financial intermediaries. Moreover, buying land and constructing a building for the new branch in the city would be too risky for the company since they are not assured of the success of the said expansion. Furthermore, if the expansion failed, it would be easier for the company to retract since they have no properties to consider. Also the company is not yet financially stable and capable enough to be granted the loan to invest for the properties. The cost of land acquisition, building construction, equipment, and fixtures, which is 10. 5 million Php, is very large compared to its annual net income of only two million Php. Another major point in the analysis of this case is the competition of Rural Bank of Suares which are Manila-based banks the two other rural banks in the capital city. Manila bank branches donÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t offer small loans. In that sense, RBS can use this to their advantage and cater to specific the loan market. However, the more pressing problem is that RBS shares this specific target market with other rural banks in the capital city. RBS aims to distinguish itself from competition through better service. On another note, the presence of rural banks in the city signifies that they have a profitable business, which bodes well for RBS planning an expansion. An additional point of consideration is the various types of loans that the Bank of Suares had to offer at the time. We see in Exhibit One that most of their revenue came from agricultural loans, comprising approximately 52% of their total income in 1994, as compared to the 7. 6% and 3% from commercial and industrial loans, respectively. Also from 1994 to 1995, revenue from agricultural loans increased by 4,391,810. 96 Php; it is the one that experienced the highest gain out of all the income generating items, and the only one that actually gained income compared to the other two loans. Revenue from commercial and agricultural loans decreased by 69,026. 10 Php and 50,099. 0 Php respectively during the same time period. Alternative courses of action: One option is to expand the bank within the business centre of the city, but to rent instead, therefore without land acquisition and building construction. This provides the flexibility of exit if the expansion fails. RBS could rent until the stockholders feel that their position in the market is already stable. Another option is to expand the bank with in the city, but to wait until the bank is already financially stable. This is also a safe plan, because the bank has just had its first taste of a good yearÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s profit. They could wait until theyÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ve gained more capital. While waiting, they can start devising a plan of expansion. Lastly, there is an option not to expand in the urban areas, but focus on the market in Suares. However, according to Peter Arguelles, the market limit in Suares has been reached already. Decision: We recommend that the stockholders postpone their expansion until the bank becomes more financially stable. In the time they use while waiting, RBS should start drafting their plans of expansion to the capital city. This is considerably safe to business and yet, also progressive.

I was never good in studies, but I always spent time trying to make my parents happy by trying my best to get good grades. The high school I attended had a number of clubs and associations attached with its prestigious name and as students we were always encouraged to be a part of them. There was one social service unit that did not have too many students as a part of it and thus the student body always urged students to join it in order to help the special children within the city. However, the club was never able to attract a lot of attention towards itself because not everyone wanted to become a part of a social unit designed for the welfare of differently-abled children. My parents have always tried to help charitable organisations and young orphans to live a better life in whatever way they can; my mother has raised me teaching me little things like donating m old clothes and always taking food for orphans on festive occasions. These habits have been inculcated within me so deep that somehow someday, I was urged from within to join the social service unit in order to interact with differently abled children and understand how they lived lives. With time, we were taken on field trips where we visited children from various schools; some of them were blind, some deaf, and some were physically handicapped. However, I remember meeting a young boy by the name of Austin, who was autistic. Soon, we had a three day older sibling program where we were each assigned a young boy or girl to foster and nurture under our care. We were to behave as their big brothers or sisters and teach them all kinds of values and morals and spend three days with them. I was assigned as AustinÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s brother. At first, I did not understand how to deal with the young boy because he always thought on a different wavelength Ã¢â‚¬â€œ I was still not able to understand how to interact with Austin and by the end of the first day I felt frustrated and disappointed on having had him appointed with me. However, as the second day came and I wearily woke up to go meet Austin, I was surprised when he handed me a jigsaw that he had painted, cut up and made for me. He told me with his slurry speech that he had designed it on the story Ã¢â‚¬ËœHansel and GretelÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ by the Grimm Brothers. I was extremely touched. That day, I met AustinÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s teachers as well and they showed me his skills and creativity. I was amazed to see that the boy had an amazing sense of art Ã¢â‚¬â€œ his paintings were something different! His teachers also told me that despite his challenges, Austin spent hours at an end reading and being read to, trying to understand his texts and making sure that he did well in his studies, because his parents believed in him and told him that God would take his illne ss away if he studied hard and made something of himself.
